Turning the Ordinary into the Extraordinary

I have always been drawn to the beauty and character of objects that tell a story. Sometimes that beauty is already there, waiting to be discovered; sometimes it takes imagination, craftsmanship, and a new perspective to bring it to life.

I founded Fabio Verdiani Designs in 2021 to explore this passion, transforming furniture and decorative objects through colour, texture, patinas, and traditional decorative techniques. My work is rooted in the belief that beauty need not be new, and that sustainability and sophistication can go hand in hand.

Born and raised in Genoa, Italy, I spent nearly twenty years in Paris before moving to Philadelphia, where I developed my artistic practice and refined my approach to decorative finishes. These different places have shaped the way I see interiors, art, and design — from the understated elegance of France to the richness of Italian traditions and the creative energy of America.

Recently, I have returned to Italy, where I live and work on the Ligurian coast in Nervi. Being close to the Mediterranean, with its colours, light, architecture, and centuries of artistic heritage, brings me back to my roots while continuing to inspire new directions in my work.

Through Fabio Verdiani Designs, I create distinctive pieces that bring together past and present, craftsmanship and experimentation, character and refinement. Whether reimagining a vintage piece of furniture or exploring a decorative finish, my aim is always the same: to reveal the extraordinary potential in the ordinary.

Because the most beautiful things are not always the newest. Sometimes, they are the ones that have a story worth telling.
